In 2009, KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School opened its doors to 93 college-bound fifth graders. By the end of the 2009-2010 academic year, the founding class of 2017 demonstrated measurable academic growth in both reading and mathematics.

As indicated by 2010 PSSA results, KIPP West’s founding class of 2017 outscored their neighborhood peers by a remarkable 50 point increase in math and a 15 point increase in reading.

As a result of the impressive gains demonstrated in math and reading, KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory is proud to report our Annual Yearly Progress status as certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
